Border Reivers 7-11 Gala Squash Select
With Dunbar failing to raise a team for the East League 4 match, the Border Reivers played in a Friendly against a Gala Squash Club Select, this kept the squad players ticking over and prepared them for the match against Tyne 2s next week.
The Border Reivers were represented by: Jordan Reid, Iain Laing, Del Sharratt and Richard Taylor. Gala Squash Club Select team was: Sam Collin, Patrick Barbour, Darrenn Quinn, Brian Magowan.
The Match was tied 2-2 in rubbers and came down to games won. Gala Squash Club Select took the victory by ONE game 8-7.
Club Captain Del Sharratt said “This was arranged at the last minute, with Dunbar pulling out the team hadn’t really had an outing since before Christmas so this got our squash heads back on. It was close match and good match ups. This helps keep our eye in for the Big Match next week when Tyne 2s come down to Gala. A victory over Tyne 2s will go a long way to securing promotion for the Border Reivers.
