Edinburgh Sports club 7s v Border Reivers (15-6)
Joe Cowie 3-0 Pat Spence
Cowie proved too strong for Spence in this one. Cowie has recently switched form the Ladies League to the Open Leagues and has made the transition well. Cowie won 15-10, 15-11, 15-13.
James Sawers 3-0 Del sharratt
This was a very one sided match, Sharratt came up against a superior opponent in this one and struggled from the off. Sawers took it 15-9, 15-6, 15-5.
Euan Bourhill 3-1 Jordan Reid
Reid got the first point of the night for the Border Reivers, Reid started impressively and kept the shots tight to the wall to take it 15-9. But Reid started t o Wain a bit after that as Bourhill sent Reid to every corner of the court and Reid just ran out of steam. The last 3 games went 15-6, 15-5, 15-9.
Matthew Boyce 3-2 Sam Collin
These two are old adversaries having played several times in the East Leagues and in Tournaments so they both knew what to expect. Colling took the first two games 15-11, 17-15 and fulyl expected to kick on and take Boyce down fairly quickly. Boyce had other ideas and several unforced errors by Collin in the third let Boyce start his comeback with 15-12. Boyce seemed to be on the up now and at 2-2 boyce ran off t oa n11-3 lead in the decider. Most players would fade out at that point but Collin Dug Deep and brought it right back to 12-12 before a wayward serve gave Boyce the Hand and Boyce won 15-12.
Andrew Black 0-3 Tony Elliot
Tony Elliot kept his 100% win rate this season in tact with played 6, won 6 for 18 against 0. Elliot is the man to beat in this League and hopefully can keep his winning streak going throughout the season. This was less than straight forward even though the scores of 15-8, 15-6, 15-8 make it look very one-sided.
