TABLE TOPPERS CLAIM GOOD WIN

GRANGE 4 V BORDER REIVERS

Darren Quinn 0-3 Ryan Lee
Grange Youth player Ryan Lee got the City team off to a flier 15-4, 15-8, 15-5.  He proved far to skillful for the Borderer.

Pat Spence 1-3 Alfredo Iacovone
The experience of Spence wasn’t enough to conquer the Youthful Iacovone.  It was a close match and the score slightly flatters Iacovone, but he got the decisive shots when it  mattered.  15-12, 13-15, 15-5, 15-8.

Piers Wilkinson 2-3 Mike Gore
This was a Ding Dong affair; Wilkonson is a former member at Grange and Gore an old Friendly Rival….the first game went 15-7 to Gore, as Wilkinson seemed to be slow to get going, after a water break though, Wilkinson came out a better player and managed to win the next two games 15-12 15-11.  The match was a really close match up as each player had to think about placement of shots and had to be shrewd to win points.  Wilkinson was 14-13 and Match point up in the 4th but a deft drop shot by Gore earned him the Hand back and he ended up taking the fourth 17-15.  Losing the fourth game seemed to take the wind out of Wilkinson and he faed in the fifth and Gore won 15-8 for 3-2

Del Sharratt 0-3 Rory Gilbride
This was a repeat of the match up fro last season, and unfortunately for Del it wa the same result too, a whitewash for The Grange Boy.  Gilbride seems to have the measure of Del and raced off to a 15-7, 15-5 for a 2-0 lead and despite a Valiant effort from sharratt in the 3rd, Gilbride won 15-13.

Tony Elliot 3-0 Harry Greenwood
Another Victory, and another 3-0 whitewash for The Borderer top seed.  Elliot’s record this season reads played 4, won 4, For 12, against 0.  Elliot is proving to be the League 4s most feared player.  This was the only victory for the Borderers on the night, and kept the Galashiels based team in the promotion hunt.
